Just a quick update. Just over two weeks back on Thursday April 7th, Doug Mortensen (me) attended a Microsoft Partner Technical Seminar on the latest & greatest Microsoft Server product for small & medium sized businesses. Namely Small Business Server 2011 Standard and Small Business Server 2011 Essentials.
We just wanted to let our customers & community know that we are taking much effort to keep on top of the Microsoft server technologies that so many businesses will inevitably be using, as old servers are upgraded, phased out, etc.
The training was held at the Microsoft Corporate office in Denver, CO. It appeared that most of the attendants were locals to that region. We didn't see anyone else there from the 4-corners I.T. scene and this was the nearest venue of this event that Microsoft has been holding around the country as they introduce these new products to partners. We are excited to be able to offer an advanced level of expertise to our local customers.
In addition to the SBS 2011 variants, coverage was also given to Office365, which is Microsoft's new (sort of) cloud-based hosting offerings of Exchange, SharePoint, Lync & related. It is definitely fascinating, especially considering the options that include a full copy of Office 2010 Professional. The pricing seems quite compelling. We will be interested to see how it is adopted into the market.
We are currently working to certify our staff on SBS 2011 to provide an even higher level of expertise & customer confidence with these products.
